At 19 weeks the boys were neck and neck. They measured very close to each other in size (both boys measured 2-3 days big) so neither one had any advantage. The twin known as Lefty stretched his feet far enough that he was the victor for that ultrasound. However, by the end of the ultrasound Righty made a good showing by kicking Lefty's feet out of the way. The doctor judged the match fairly and decided to wait until a follow up ultrasound could settle the score.
Righty came back strong today at 23 weeks measuring a whoping two weeks big. That's right. I am 23 weeks and he's measuring at least 25 weeks... Lefty has also had a growth spurt measuring one week big (24 weeks). But it seems the extra week in size put Righty in the lead with his head jammed as far down as it could possibly go. Instead of being side by side, the boys are now more top and bottom. Sorry Lefty, I'm sure you'll make a great younger brother.
Being on top has it's perks though, we can actually get a decent picture of Lefty. He has been the cooperative baby from the start. We knew he was a boy about a month before we knew about Righty. We have great shots of Lefty's face/profile from almost every ultrasound. As you can see, this is a great profile of 23 weeks along Lefty...

Righty has been opposed to ultrasounds from about 12 weeks on. He was always looking away, turing his back, and crossing his legs. With his head jammed so far down my uterus we got absolutely no pics of his little face today. The best we have of Righty is from 4 weeks ago when his back was turned to the ultrasound. This pic is basically looking through the back of his head to see his face. The big dark circle is his brain, the small dark circle underneath is his eye socket. And you can see the beginning of teeth being made underneath his gums on the right side of his head. Adorable, isn't he? He must get his loathing of being photographed from his father...

People are always asking me how I'm feeling and I have to say I'm doing pretty good. I have an okay amount of energy and I'm almost never sick. Just the occasional emotion overflow (and don't listen to Nate, it really is occasional) and your average back/hip pain. So overall, I'm happy, doing well, and carrying two very large babies :)
