Well we have been playing a lot this summer ever since Nate graduated in April with his Masters in Information Systems. We went to San Diego and Lake Powell with my family, and we are hoping to plan several boating trips with Nate's family in the near future... (hint hint-haha)
It has been wonderful having a graduated hubby. He fixed our disposal, with only some help from me, he helps take care of our tomatoe and watermelon plants, he does the dishes, and helps with dinners. All because when he gets home from work he has nothing else to do but spend time with me :) Granted, he does find some time for video games and his all important "resume blog". That's what he calls it so that I think it's super important for him to do. He he he. But I'm glad he loves his field of work so much that he wants to keep doing it when he gets home.
In fact he recently recieved quite a compliment from his boss when he was given a trial project manager position. I think Nate would be great at this, even if it does add a bit of pressure to his work days. Like most of us, more responsibility drives him to do his best.
It's a shame Nate doesn't read this blog, seeing as how I write about him so much. Oh well, maybe one day he'll have an interest. He just always says, "I lived it with you, so I already know what you're writing about." Oh man, he cracks me up...
As for me, I started my new job about a month ago now and it has been interesting to be on this side of the learning curve again. Not being in school can make you a little too comfortable with your current abilities. Anyway, I've been learning the basics of illustrator, flash, fireworks, html, and always more about photoshop. I'm so intimidated by actually coding something... I feel like it's learning a third language and I don't know if I'm up to it. In other words, I'm lazy :) But I'm trying to push past my comfort zone and into new areas and skills that might be useful for a stay at home mom.
Not that I'm a mother yet but that has been my goal for many years. I mean lets face it, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say, "a mom." I've basically been baby hungry for a decade :) But it has taken a while for nate to catch the bug. Something our nieces Shelby and Rosemary have helped with considerably. In fact on our last trip to Lake Powell, Nate couldn't get enough of Shelby, she was his favorite entertainment at his favorite vacation destination. I think it's safe to say, he's caught the bug :)
