Grandma Waters

Last saturday my sisters and I took my Grandma Waters to lunch at PF Changs and the play Guys and Dolls. It was a lot of fun. I miss my Grandma. I don't get to see her enough living down here in Lehi. Anyway, the play was adorable because it was children's theatre. There was this one little kid who did an AMAZING New York accent that had us all giggling the whole time.

I want to tell you about my Grandma Waters for just a minute. What an incredible lady. Her entire life has been a shining example of Elder Wirthlin's talk, "Come What May, And Love it." She has seen more than her fair share of grief, scarcity, and difficulty in her life. But if you ask her, her life has been nothing but blessed. She has a good attitude about everything and she knows how to get things done. She may have seemed bossy with her, "Now you get yourself back here and give me a love." But nobody ever had a problem being "bossed" by grandma. We knew there was nothing but love for us behind every word and thought.

Back when she had a million grandkids running around distroying her house she was the epitome of patience. If we ever broke something at Grandma's our saving grace would be if Grandma found out before our parents. To this day, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren can do no wrong in her eyes. Even when we mess up she has this way of looking at us through the eyes of the Savior. Its kind of a wierd balance between understanding, compassion, high expectations, patience, and unconditional love. Its what makes her a safe place to go for anything that ails you.

Sometimes she wonders aloud why her kids and grandkids are such good, moral people. I always tell her its her fault but she doesn't believe me. But in reality we all know that it is almost impossible to permanantly give way to temptation and lies when you have such a strong force of love in your life. This makes me want to go and soak her up as much as possible in the years to come. If all her daughters and granddaughters can be even a portion of what she taught us, we have a lot of love and strength to offer the world. And it all stems from our sweet Grandma.

Grandma, you have been one of the major constants in my life. I will never be able to adaquately thank you for all that you do and all that you are. Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Random Catch Up

Hey! Long Time No Write... Anyway, I have good news. Nate is finished with his online class that has been occupying every saturday for the last two months!! Yay!! It makes me want to take him away on vacation and make him relax. At least I usually feel that way, unless I'm nagging him to do the dishes. What a mean wife I turned out to be!

Anyway another piece of good news is that I'm doen with the parenting class I was teaching. It was a 14 week class every thursday night. It was a really good experience and I learned a lot. I became pretty good friends with the people there and honestly I'll miss seeing them. But I'm sure glad to have my Thursday nights back. Being in Young Women Tuesday nights are all booked up too. But I really couldn't complain. Nate's mom Sharon is a Stake Young Women's Leader and she is booked all day on sundays, and several nights a week!

That pretty much sums up the last two months for us. We work, then work some more, then watch a Lost or an Office here and there to unwind.

K, so here's a random story: I had the best dream last night. I dreamt that you could attach chocolates to emails. So like my sister Amanda would email me and chocolates would start falling out of my computer screen! I think I should invent that. But wasn't it already on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, sending Chocolate long distances? Anyway, just thought I'd share. I wish we had some chocoalte cereal to eat right now...
